A New Era for the MG Comet The MG Comet has made quite a splash in the EV market, and the inclusion of a faster charging option in the latest version is set to only heighten its appeal. This addition is part of MG’s strategy to revamp the Comet line-up, which also includes the introduction of several new features. The refreshed Comet now comes in three trims – Executive, Excite, and Exclusive – with the latter two offering the fast-charging option.
Pricing and Variants
The MG Comet EV’s price spectrum now lies between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Executive and Excite trims are priced the same as their predecessors, the Pace and Play trims, while the new Exclusive trim is Rs 20,000 more expensive than the preceding Plush trim.

Added Features and Upgrades
The new Comet EV comes with significant upgrades, aimed at enhancing user convenience and driving experience. The fast-charging variants, in particular, boast several additional features over the regular ones. These include rear disc brakes, electronic parking brake, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill-hold control, power foldable wing mirrors now finished in body color, and a creep mode.

While the Comet EV does not have a direct competitor in the market, one could consider the entry-level variants of the Tata Tiago EV as its nearest rival. The Tiago EV comes with a 19.2kWh battery and offers an ARAI-claimed range of 250km.
