Gurugram goes electric as Tata Motors launches an EV-exclusive showroom in Sector 14, Sohna Road, Gurugram. With homemade cars like Nexon.ev, Tiago.ev, and Tigor.ev, already dominating the Indian roads, Tata steps up the game in providing sustainable mobility solutions by launching its environment-friendly showroom dedicated only to electric vehicles. The smart move is designed to raise customer awareness and experience of electric vehicles, and the showroom is expected to go live for the public on 7 January 2024.
Tata EV is already a major player in the current landscape of the EV revolution, with more than 100,000 cars sold in the past five years. Along with this, the electric division of Tata Motors has also developed 4000+ charging points spread across 350+ cities and towns. Tata.ev also plans on releasing electric SUVs with Tata Curvv EV, Tata Harrier EV, and Tata Punch EV lined up for release in 2024.
Tata’s move to unveil its EV-dedicated showroom is commendable because it opens more avenues for customers to avail themselves of the benefits of electric vehicles in India. As the threat of climate change looms all over the world, and the governments of various nations pledge to transition to cleaner mobility by 2030, electric vehicles prove to be the biggest game-changer for all stakeholders. They are not only cost-effective, technologically charged, and energy efficient but also provide numerous benefits to the everyday user in terms of smoother riding experience, ambient motor sound, and superior handling. With major players like Tata and Ola contributing towards the development of electric vehicles for Indian customers, the contemporary mobility landscape is witnessing a revolution as more and more people are adopting EVs for their everyday use.
Indian riders can enjoy the benefits of EVs through many options, such as buying, loaning, leasing, and renting. Though nothing compares to the feeling of owning a personal EV, the high upfront cost and lack of awareness about EVs often hinder a customer from gaining a personal EV experience. However, these challenges are solved by various startups and initiatives that provide EVs to the user through leasing and renting, thereby making them more accessible & affordable. These initiatives and offers simply point to the fact that we are witnessing the EV revolution, and the mobility sector is set to be electrified in the upcoming years.
